Custom art commissions
A commissioned artwork begins with a conversation. Maria Betancor creates original sculptures, paintings and illustrations in response to a space, an idea, a story or a meaningful reference.
Rather than choosing from a fixed catalogue, we develop a proposal that preserves the artist's visual language while responding to what you need.
How an art commission works
- Share your idea. Describe the space, occasion, format you have in mind and approximate budget.
- We review the starting point. Photographs, measurements and references help establish scale and context.
- We agree the proposal before work begins. Technique, dimensions, budget and schedule are confirmed individually before accepting the commission.
- The artwork is created in the studio. The result will be an original piece, not an exact reproduction of another work.
Information that helps shape the proposal
- approximate dimensions of the space or artwork;
- photographs of the place where it will live;
- techniques or materials that interest you;
- colours, forms or references that matter to you;
- an indicative budget and preferred date, if relevant.
Each request is considered according to studio availability and artistic and technical feasibility. Sending an enquiry does not commit you to accepting a proposal.
Tell me what you have in mind
Include whatever information you already have. If you do not yet know the dimensions or technique, we can begin with the idea.
